Maruti Hikes Product Prices

The country's largest car maker Maruti-Suzuki India who has cars in most segment has hiked the prices of their products due to increasing input costs, steel being the major cause. The hiked prices range from Rs 1,000 to Rs 18,000. The recently launched Swift Dzire, which is a sedan version of the Swift was increased by Rs 18,000. The Dzire was launched last month with an introductory price of 4.49 lakh - Rs 6 lakh depending on different variants.

The company has also hiked the prices on the petrol version of its hatchbacks including the SX4. Now the Swift Petrol is Rs 9000 more than the usual cost and the Diesel is Rs 15,000 costlier. The Alto and the 800 was hiked by Rs 1,500 while the Estilo and Wagon R LPG was raised by Rs 1000. The Wagon R petrol is now Rs 2000 more including the Omni van. The Versa is also hiked with a tag of Rs 8000.

However, the company left its SUV, the Grand Vitara alone from the hike. Maruti has hiked the prices of their products, now its time for the other manufacturers to hike, and this will happen soon, so book your cars soon, that is if you have plans to buy one.
