Yamaha YZF R15 for India

Yamaha Motor India is seriously planning to create a serious brand image and re-establish its position in India, and are planning some serious bikes this year for some serious riders. What you see here is the Yamaha YZF-R15 which will make it to India somewhere around June or July.

Yamaha is showcasing its potential for India with some real performance Yamaha bikes at affordable rates like below Rs 95000. The YZF R15 has a 150cc Fuel Injected liquid cooled engine that will be producing an almost impossible 20bhp and according to one of the blogs in Thailand, it produces 22bhp, which will make it like the most powerful bike under 200cc range and has a 6-speed Transmission but the bhp is not completely confirmed.
The YZF-R15 is similar to the R1 in looks and is aimed at serious bikers who require performance and style. This Yamaha has fairings like a sports bike and sensibly it is one and doesn't look attached like the P220. It has twin head lights like the R1 beautifully designed body. There were many people around this bike in the Auto show and if it performs well, it will lure away buyer from the p200 or even the P220 and Karizma to the Yamaha YZF R15.

It will be launched in June or July. Yamaha said that they will definitely make the bike below the 1 Lakh tag. So, expect it to be a maximum of Rs 95000. And its confirmed.

The new Gladiators will be launched in March or May, which will be Rs 30,000 - 40,000 cheaper than the Yamaha YZF R15. If you can go for this then you will have to spend extra money plus wait a little more like till June or July.

My dear Nepalese friend,

It sure can ride in the bumpy roads, but whats the use if you cant take this machine where it is suppose to belong?

anyways if you are really a lover then the bike costs almost 1,50,000 Nepalese Rupee

HEY GUYS DONT WASTE TIME WAITING FOR THIS BIKE. I THINK YAMAHA WILL DISSAPOINT US AGAIN LIKE THEY DID IN 2007 WHEN THEY SAID THERE WERE GOING TO LAUNCH FAZER250.

I FEEL THIS BIKE IS NOT FOR INDIAN ROADS.

i just met a guy in the R15 community on a website. he is from thailand and says the bike was launched there years ago and the bike was a flop there. he said the bike gives low mileage, and lots of other stuff like it being only 15 bhp and the production has been stopped in thailand. i was really disappointed...........please tell me if it is true..

I dont think that the bike he was talking was a R15, mileage can be a problem in this bike, but performance wise, this one is a killer and gives 20-22bhp as given.
