Hyundai i20 In India by 2008 End!

Hyundai Motor India Limited, the second largest car manufacturer in India has seen the potential for its upcoming cars in India by the success of its i10. HMIL is planning on launching the Hyundai i20 in India around October or November. Launching it at the festive season, just like they did on the Hyundai i10.

The Hyundai i20 will be placed between the i10 and the Hyundai accent, whereas the Hyundai i30 will be placed between the i20 and the Hyundai Verna, the Hyundai i30 is another car which was revealed at the Frankfurt Auto Show, its a long hatch like the SRV.

Like the i10, Hyundai will be exporting the manufactured i20 for export to other countries, as a result to reduce manufacturing costs. The i10 and i20 will be made in HMIL's second manufacturing plant at Sriperumbdur, near Chennai which has the capacity to manufacture 6,00,000 units per year.

The i20 will be price between 4.5-6L and will take on the new Skoda Fabia, Suzuki Swift and the upcoming Fiat Grande Punto. The i20 should be a very good car at an attractive price to compete with these majors. Good news is that Hyundai will also launch a Diesel variant of the Hyundai i10 some time later.

Wow!! another Swift competitor, i bet it will not be fitted with the Getz petrol engine, but a more powerful diesel and frugal petrol engine. Nice move by Hyundai.
